I'm a life-long Michigander with a simple purpose in life: being a good husband, father, and citizen. I like to say that I've never met long odds (or a dance floor) I didn't like. If you know me for long enough, I think you'll come to find that's true.
I am captivated by collective action problems, the practice of management, and moral philosophy.
I love to write and create. You can find my blog here, subscribe to my weekly newsletter, or use your favorite RSS reader.
Here's my more formal bio:
Neil Tambe is a Senior Manager within the Strategy & Analytics group at La-Z-Boy Incorporated. He spent four meaningful, humbling, fantastic years as the Strategic Projects Manager for the Detroit Police Department under the leadership of Mayor Mike Duggan and Chief James E. Craig. He received his MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
In a past life, Neil was a Detroit-based Consultant at Deloitte where he helped large companies - across a variety of industries and functions - successfully engage employees in embracing transformational change. While a consultant, Neil produced forward-thinking research on the intersection of business strategy and disruptive technology as a Fellow at Deloitte's Center for the Edge. He also co-founded initiatives to foster skills-based volunteerism and design thinking within the social sector as co-lead of the Deloitte Center for Leadership and Community in Detroit.
Neil, a life-long Michigander and proud liberal arts graduate, received his BA from the University of Michigan in Political Science and Organizational Studies (with high honors). He is the only child of Girish and Anjali Tambe and is married to the love of his life, Robyn. They live in Detroit with their sons Robert and Myles, and Riley, their lovable lab-mix rescue dog.
